Indian cement companies report higher incomes and reduced losses

Shree Digvijay Cement Company reported income of Rs.95.17 crore for the July – September quarter. The company also registered a net loss of Rs.13.14 crore. This compares with income of Rs.62.16 crore and a net loss of Rs.24.74 crore in the same quarter of 2013.

Trinetra Cement reported total income from operations of Rs.105.53 crore for the September quarter, up from Rs.90.41 crore in the previous year. The company’s net loss stood at Rs.7.51 crore, down from Rs.12.62 crore in the September 2013 quarter.

Reports indicate that inflation in the Wholesale Price Index fell to a five-year low in October, with inflation in manufactured products (including cement) falling to 2.43% from 2.84% in September.
