India’s Reliance Cement Company Private Ltd (RCC) has announced its entry into the Jharkhand market. The new market entry represents part of the company’s strategy to expand its footprint in the domestic market.

Arvind Pathak, CEO of Reliance Cement, commented on the developments: “Jharkhand is one of the most important cement markets in eastern India. The demand in the state is expected to grow exponentially due to upcoming power and steel plants and other mineral based industries. Reliance Cement is well positioned and equipped to fulfill the gap in demand and supply.”

RCC already operates in the key markets of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, where it has established itself to become one of the leading cement brands. It focuses on bringing a next generation experience to its customers in terms of customer service and product quality.

"Standing by our commitment for quality, all our cement bags would carry a unique QR code, which a consumer can scan using a smart phone for product features/usage,” said Pathak. “The code will also act as proof of authenticity. This is the first time in the Indian cement industry that a quality code has been introduced for customer benefit."

The company is additionally planning to launch its new customer initiative ‘Onsite Expert Service’ in Jharkhand. The initiative will provide an array of services, ranging from expert engineer’s advice to onsite concrete testing services and assisting people in building their own homes. The company will also be providing training to masons and contractors across Jharkhand.

RCC is one of the country’s leading integrated cement producers with a total production capacity of 5.5 million tpa. Its 2 million tpa plant in Uttar Pradesh, 3 million tpa facility in Madhya Pradesh and 500 000 tpa unit in Butibori Maharashtra are now operational. Following its entry into Jharkhand, RCC has plans to expand its presence in other eastern, central and northern markets across the country.
