Harish Badami appointed as CEO of ACC

The Board of Directors of ACC Ltd has appointed Harish Badami as CEO and Managing Director Designate of the company, effective from 1 August 2014. Badami will replace Kuldip Kaura, whose term of office as CEO and MD of the company was extended until 31 December 31 2014. Kaura will resign as CEO and MD of the company with effect from 13 August 2014 and Badami will assume responsibility as CEO and MD from that date for a period of five years.

Badami has over 25 years experience in the chemical industry with leading multinational companies ICI, Rohm & Haas/Dow Chemicals and Celanese India. He was President and MD of Dow Chemicals from 2009 to 2011 and until recently the MD of Celanese India.

With the Jamul expansion coming onstream next year, ACC is now well poised to serve the Indian market, which is on the threshold of rapid growth.
