Taiheiyo Cement establishes sustainability promotion department to enhance sustainability management

Taiheiyo Cement Corporation promotes sustainability management from the viewpoints of the environment, society, and governance. To enhance its organisational structure, the Company has decided to establish the Sustainability Promotion Department on April 1.
In recent years, investors are increasingly evaluating companies from the viewpoint of sustainability by considering environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors alongside financial factors. Under these circumstances, we signed the United Nations Global Compact in May 2022 and are strengthening our efforts to promote responsible business practices in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and corruption.
In addition to presenting our sustainability initiatives externally, we will establish the Sustainability Promotion.
Department to fully respond to ESG investment and promotion worldwide by developing and deepening companywide activities aimed at responding to the demands of investors, government agencies, and other organisations in a timely manner.
The newly established Sustainability Department will integrate business activities and sustainability issues as company-wide initiatives, strengthen disclosure of ESG performance to improve enterprise value and brand image, and promote sustainability management aimed at strengthening individual initiatives related to ESG.
