JK Lakshmi Cement, India, has announced it will continue with plans to set up a 2.7 million t greenfield plant in the Durg district of Chhattisgarh, despite damage caused to the facility last week by local villagers. According to reports, hundreds of people entered the site on 4 April, angered by the company’s alleged reluctance to give jobs to the local people affected by the plant.
