Orient Cement entrusts FLSmidth with new plant contract
Orient Cement Ltd, India, has placed an order with FLSmidth worth more than DKK200 million for a 6000 tpd greenfield plant in Karnataka. FLSmidth will provide engineering and supply of all main equipment, from the limestone crusher to the packing plant, including limestone, coal and additive storage, raw material grinding system using roller press technology, a VRM for coal grinding, ILC pyroprocessing system with Cross-Bar Cooler, two VRMs for cement grinding, and the packing and loading system for trucks and rail wagons.
Speaking on the announcement of the contract, Group Executive Vice President Per Mejnert Kristensen said, “Orient Cement is a well-known customer to FLSmidth. In 2007, we supplied the company with a pyro processing system with a capacity of 4,000 tonnes per day for a brownfield project. This new order from Orient Cement is based on a close and successful customer relationship and is furthermore a good example of FLSmidth's leading position in the Indian cement market.”
