Approval granted for new cement plant in Himachal Pradesh
According to local press reports, the Himachal Pradesh State Level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority has approved the establishment of a new cement plant by Reliance Cement. Around Rs.3,400 crore is reportedly being invested in the new plant, which will be located in Chopal in the district of Shimla. The new cement plant would generate some 350 jobs in the area.
In October 2013, Reliance Cement began commissioning of a 5 million tpa cement plant in Madhya Pradesh. The plant includes a 10 MW waste heat recovery system and is built to high environmental and international standards. The facility will serve the cement markets in central, eastern and northern India.
