Semen Indonesia welcomes visitors to Tuban plant

World Cement,

Semen Indonesia held an open day at its Tuban plant, attended by 200 people. They were welcomed by Production Director Prasetyo Utomo, who said that the company is always open to people wishing to visit its plants. He told visitors how the company always emphasises the environment in its operations, including quarry rehabilitation projects, dust control and alternative fuels, such as rice husk. The visitors, who came from the nearby villages, were also shown the reservoir in the excavated clay quarry, which meets the water needs of residents in local villages, Telogowaru and Temandang. The plant has actually benefited local farmers by providing more water resources, which have tripled the number of harvests.

Prasetyo Utomo also reassured the visitors that Semen Indonesia will take great care with the construction of the new cement plant in Rembang, Central Java. Before building the plant, an Environmental Impact Assessment was carried out, which is not a simple process, and as a state-owned company Semen Indonesia must always comply with rules and regulations.
