Allied Cement gains approval for new cement facility in Bailonggang

Allied Cement has announced that the Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission has approved plans for its new cement facility in Bailonggang, China. The plant will make use of advanced technologies, such as two-support kilns, 4^th generation coolers and low temperature waste heat power generation, and operate on reduced power consumption to a level significantly below those of traditional cement manufacturers.

The new facility is a joint venture between Allied Cement and Shanghai Building Material Group, with each company investing RMB400 million in the project. Following the Commission’s endorsement, Allied Cement has obtained the other necessary approvals for the project from relevant local authorities.

Major activities for the next stage of the Bailonggang project include land acquisition, finalisation of technical proposals, inviting tenders and commencement of construction.
