Bharathi Cement Starts up Second Line

World Cement,


Bharathi Cement, a subsidiary of the Vicat Group, has announced that it has begun production of its second 2.5 million tpa production line in Kadapa district, India. The first line was inaugurated in September 2010.

The plant is directly linked to the rail and road network that runs between the major cities of South India, i.e., Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. It will supply the markets of Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Goa, Pondicherry and Andaman and Nicobar.

The company’s Rs 1625 crore investment in the plant at Nallalingayapalli village in Kadapa district includes the cost of the land. Its three products, OPC 43 and 53 grade and pozzolana cement, are now available across South India and Maharashtra.
