JK Cement to expand facilities in India
JK Cement, India, is carrying out a brownfield expansion project at the Mangrol plant in Rajasthan, as it plans to create a production capacity of 5000 tpd at the site.
JK Cement has approved a project to expand capacity by 2.2 million t at the site, as well as approving an additional 1.8 million t grinding facility in North India. The location for this project is yet to be decided.
A. K. Saraogi, Chief Financial Officer, said that the company is reported to be investing some Rs. 1500 crore, 900 crore of this funded through debt and the remainder through equity. The project will include a 25MW captive power plant. Commissioning is due to take place in 2012.
JK Cement currently operates two cement facilities in Nimbahera and Mangrol, operating 7 million t of capacity in the north and 3 million t in the south.
