Semen Indonesia expands into Aceh

Cement producer Semen Indonesia is expanding into Aceh next year by developing a factory with an investment of up to US$360 million.

The company is currently investigating to potential of building the factory in Pidie.

Semen Indonesia had found a local partner for the project and is holding discussions to determine the portion of stakes in the upcoming joint venture. The company projected the facility would produce around 3 million tpy of cement.

The plant is part of Semen Indonesia's US$4.3 billion expansion plan between 2015-19.
