World Cement,
Ohorongo Cement has held a ground-breaking ceremony for a special composite cement plant at its Sargberg plant. The plant, which represents a N$150 million investment, will enable the company to produce various types of high-quality cement to supplement its existing production facilities and meet the increasing demand for new cement types. Ohorongo Cement currently produces three different types of cement.
The new plant will include a packaging line to pack both 50 kg bags and bulk. It will reach a height of 41 m and will use 917 t of steel. The Namibian workforce will be trained for 9 months by the supplier specialists at the plant to further the transfer of skills and knowledge.
