Dangote commissions concrete road

Dangote Industries Limited has formally commissioned a 24km road in Nigeria, which will be the longest stretch of road built with Dangote cement. It was constructed by AG-Dangote Construction Ltd.
The decision to introduce cement roads in Nigeria is in line with what is attainable in other parts of the world. Concrete roads are 25% cheaper that conventional asphalt roads, but also last longer and are less likely to have potholes. They require less frequent maintenance and protect tyres from wear and rear. A further advantage is that cement is available locally.
The introduction of concrete roads will enable the government to find lasting solutions to the poor road network in the country, and also reduce the burden of constantly sourcing funds to repair the roads.
