Vertical roller mill from Gebr. Pfeiffer to be installed at Al Jouf cement plant

World Cement,

In February, the Chengdu Design & Research Institute of Building Materials Industry Co. Ltd., belonging to the Chinese Sinoma group and acting as General Contractor for a new 5000 tpd cement production line, contracted Gebr. Pfeiffer to supply an MPS 5000 B vertical roller mill. The mill is designed for raw material grinding and has a capacity of 450 tph.

Whilst production line no. 1 was equipped with a competitor’s vertical roller mill, production line no. 2 at Al Jouf’s cement works (AJCC), Saudi Arabia, will feature the Gebr. Pfeiffer grinding plant.

In addition to the supply of the core components of the grinding plant, Gebr. Pfeiffer will provide workshop drawings for mill components to be manufactured locally. The company will supervise the manufacture of the parts in the Chinese workshops, as well as the installation and the commissioning of the grinding plant.

Delivery of the vertical roller mill is set for the fourth quarter of 2012.
