Holcim Lebanon releases environmental report
Holcim officials in Lebanon have released an environmental report declaring that the company has reduced its emissions significantly over the past three years.
Dust emissions from Holcim’s stockyards in the country have been reduced by 82%, and other dust emissions were reduced by 22%. Perhaps the most impressive result though, is the fact that according to the report, the company has reduced CO2 emissions/t cement by 5%.
Spokespeople for the company have said that environmental sustainability is one of the company’s key priorities. This report is not a regulatory requirement and this report measuring emissions is one of a kind in Lebanon. Perhaps it will pave the way for more.
