thyssenkrupp wins Yamama Saudi Cement contract

Yamama Saudi Cement Company has appointed thyssenkrupp to build two turnkey cement production lines with a total capacity of 20 000 tpd. The plants will be built at a new site about 80 km east of Riyadh. The contract value is in the higher three-digit million euro range.

thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions is carrying out the contract on an EPC basis. Its scope of supply includes all components for the new lines, from raw material preparation to clinker manufacture to cement loading. The main components include two mobile primary crushers for limestone (each 1800 tph throughput), three crushers for additives (each 500 tph), two crushers for correctives (each
100 tph), as well as two circular blending beds for limestone, each with a capacity of 80 000 t and various additive storage facilities. Four QUADROPOL QMR2 roller mills with a throughput of 425 tph and two 35 000 t capacity homogenising silos will be used to grind and store the raw material.
The new lines are scheduled to start operation in 2018.
