World Cement,

This Day Live is reporting that the Federal High Court has restrained the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) from implementing the recently proposed revised cement standards. The case was brought by United Cement Company of Nigeria Limited (UniCem), which argued that SON had not taken the necessary legal provisions to introduce the standard. The defendants included the Attorney General of the Federation, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, and the SON.

The ruling was issued by Justice Emmanuel Obile, who urged the SON to stay action on the implementation of the standardisation pending the hearing and determination of the suit.
