Coal order for Zambian cement producer
Tancoal Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of Australia’s Intra Energy Corporation Ltd (IEC), has received its first coal supply contract from a cement producer in Zambia. The initial order for the Ndola-based cement manufacturer comprises 2000 t of coal. Tancoal expects a long-term contract to develop with the company following successful delivery of the initial order.
Tancoal plans to expand its reach in the Ndola region, as well as in the Eastern African market. IEC operates coal mines in Tanzania and Malawi, and supplies cement, steel, lime, gypsum, paper, ceramics and textiles customers in Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda and Zambia.
