Ghacem Ltd and Mutiwall Paper Sacks (MPs) West Africa Limited enter agreement
According to local reports, an agreement has been made between Ghacem Limited and Mutiwall Paper Sacks (MPs) West Africa Limited, which will authorise Ghacem to manage Multi-Wall Paper-Sacks’ mining operations in Nauli, Western Nzema.
The agreement also permits Western Bulk Haulage Limited, a subsidiary of Multi-Wall Paper-Sacks, to transport the limestone from the Nauli Mines to Ghacem’s cement plant in Takoradi.
Ghacem and Multi-walli Paper Sacks West Africa Limited have paid approximately GH ¢40 000 in compensation to 27 farmers affected by the project on the 1000 acre Nauli lands in the Jomoro District. In addition, Ghacem will carry out corporate social responsibility programmes, especially relating to health and education in the Nauli limestone mining community.
