CNBM performs capacity upgrade project for Oman Cement Company
China’s CNBM has successfully carried out a capacity upgrade project for Oman Cement Company’s Line 1, which is located southwest of Muscat. The production line has been in operation for 30 years, during which time it underwent one modification process. After commencing the project in October 2013, the production line was ignited on 25 June 2014.
During the project, CNBM overcame hurdles such as equipment delays and visa issues, as well as challenges posed by the conditions onsite such as the compact construction space, technical difficulties and the harsh environment.
The project was completed on time and will enable Oman Cement to increase its production capacity. This is the second time that CNBM has worked with Oman Cement Company and the first time that the Chinese group has performed a capacity upgrade project on an overseas clinker line.
