Ohorongo Cement donates medical equipment

A container of medical equipment and supplies was handed over to Opuwo District Hospital by the Ohorongo Otavi Community Trust, in aid of assisting with comprehensive healthcare for the people in Namibia.

The equipment included 88 wheelchairs, 11 walking frames, 5 commodes and 5 mobile drip stands, along with several boxes of plaster and baby changing mats, to the total value of N$320 000. It was handed over during a formal ceremony in Opuwo on 15 January 2016. The supply of equipment was made possible with the assistance of Support eV, Ulm, a partner of OOCT that focuses on healthcare.

During the handover ceremony, the Governor of the Kunene Region, Hon. Angelika Muharukua, commended Ohorongo Cement for their continued support, and for making other, similar donations to benefit communities. She emphasised that the equipment should be well cared for to keep it in good condition.

The Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services, Hon. Julieta Kavetuna, who received the equipments on behalf of the Ministry and Opuwo District Hospital, gave special thanks to Ohorongo Cement for their continued assistance, stating that it is very clear that Ohorongo Cement takes its social investment very seriously.
