ASCOM to work on New Suez Canal

ASCOM Geology and Mining will complete dry sand excavation on a section of the New Suez Canal, under supervision of the Egyptian Armed Forces. The company has already undertaken initial survey work and has committed to the excavation of 25 000 m³ per day until such time as they strike wet soil.

The New Suez Canal is a ~EGP60 billion project that will include a 72-kilometer long parallel waterway and a 76 000 km² industrial zone and logistics hub. The channel parallel to the current canal will also include tunnels for motor vehicles and trains.

Two other Qalaa Holdings companies are also involved in the project.
