New Loesche mills for the Dangote’s Ibese Cement plant

World Cement,

On behalf of Dangote Industries, the management of Sinoma International Engineering Co. Ltd (NCDRI) has placed an order with Loesche for vertical roller mills for the 3rd and 4th lines at the Ibese cement plant. The order follows Loesche’s having delivered equipment for Ibese’s 1st and 2nd lines.

Five Loesche Mills were specified for this contract to meet the large-scale needs of the Ibese plant. For the raw material grinding plant, two Type LM 69.6 loesche mills will be installed for the grinding of cement raw material at 450 tph (with a maximum capacity of 540 tph), and to a fineness of 10% R DIN 0.09 mm. The mill motor capacity for the LM 69.6 will be 6000 kW. Clinker will be ground in three Type LM 63.3+3C, which will be erected in the clinker grinding plant. The production rate for CEM I A-L 42.5 clinker will be 310 tph at 3200 Blaine, while the production rate of type CEM II 32.5 clinker will be 335 – 360 tph at 3200 to 3500 Blaine. The mill motor capacity for the three LM 63.3+3C mills will be will be 6300 kW.

As with the project to equip the 1st and 2nd Ibese lines, the high moisture content of the raw material, which can be as high as 20%, and its sticky nature formed a special challenge.

In addition to the mills and the mill motors, Loesche will deliver metal detectors and hopper discharge feeders. The supply is a combination of key Loesche parts and a Chinese-manufactured portion arranged by Sinoma International under the supervision of Loesche.
