National committee for cement companies established
A national committee for cement companies has been established, under the umbrella of the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The committee, which will be Chaired by Zamil Abdul Rahman Al-Muqrin, will aim to strengthen the Kingdom’s cement industry and stabilise local market prices.
According to local reports, Al-Muqrin claims that cement companies in the Kingdom will double their output in an attempt to meet local demand. He said: “[growing development, infrastructure and real estate projects] will increase the demand for cement. As a result, an agency like ours is required to develop this important sector,”
Al-Muqrin encourages investors to join the committee, which currently includes a number of prominent industrialists and businessmen.
