Mozambique cement producer Cimentos da Beira has reportedly decided to export cement to Zimbabwe and Malawi, as well as supplying the domestic market. The 800 000 tpy cement grinding plant has already stockpiled some 40 000 t of clinker to begin production after testing of the electrical substation is completed.

Cimentos da Beira is a joint project between British and South African investors through London-based Ambrian plc. The plant has taken an investment of US$45 million and employs 70 people. It is located in Beira, Sofala province, which is now home to three cement plants, the others being Cimentos de Moçambique and Austral Ciment.
