World Cement,

Savanna Diamond Cement (SDCL) has begun production at its new 440 000 tpy cement plant in Buipe, Ghana. The US$90 million plant was inaugurated by President John Mahama. It will provide jobs for 200 people and employment for a further 400 indirectly.

The SDCL plant is a fully integrated process, using limestone mined in Buipe. It is served through a partnership with GRIDCo by a 25 MW substation, out of which SDCL will use only 7 MW while the remaining 18 MW will be available for the community.
