World Cement,
SPCC has signed a contract to begin work on a second production line at its plant in Bisha, Saudi Arabia.
The company contracted to supply and do the work on the second production line is the Chinese National Building Material Company (CNBM), who are expected to begin work in mid-December. The new line is expected to commence with pilot production of clinker after 20 months and commercial production will begin after 23 months.
The project will cost around US$190 million, equivalent to SAR713 million. The new addition to the plant will be sponsored through a combination of self-financing and a loan from a Saudi bank. The financial impact of the production line will be announced at a later date.
