Cimprogetti & Idwala Industrial Holdings – a long-term partnership

Published by , Senior Editor
World Cement,

In 2011, Idwala Industrial Holdings Ltd. awarded an important order to Cimprogetti for the EPC supply of no.2 TD11 kilns, a 'river' of 1100 t of lime/day, 365 days/year for treating ore from the South African mines, as well as from Zimbabwe, Botswana, Congo and other neighboring countries.

Over the years, Cimprogetti has supported the client through setting up the quality control of the lime through compositional and microstructural analyses of the limestone, coupled with the technological characterization of limes burnt in laboratory at different temperatures.

After 10 years of production and technical cooperation, the client has decided to update the control & automation system with the new BOT Platform™, as today a kiln is no longer just an instrumented mechanism managed by an automation software but is the full integration of equipment, automation, software and services, able to produce, together with the final product, all the necessary information to achieve highest operational efficiency.
