Egypt: first students graduate Professional Diploma for the Cement Industry

The first graduation ceremony has taken place for recipients of the American University in Cairo’s inaugural Professional Diploma for the Cement Industry with a specialisation in Mechanical Maintenance. The programme was developed in cooperation with the Training Center of ASEC Engineering, an engineering services subsidiary of Qalaa Holdings (formerly Citadel Capital). The syllabus offers a comprehensive academic and practical education in the field of cement engineering and management. It comprises: Specialised Maintenance for Cement plants, Operation and Production Engineering, and Testing and Quality Control.

The degree includes six academic modules, each consisting of 45 credit hour online courses, affording students the ability to pursue their academic aspirations while maintaining their regular employment schedules.

A number of top-level managers from both Qalaa Holdings and ASEC Holding attended the ceremony, including Eng. Khaled El-Sebaie, Chairman of ASEC Engineering, in addition to senior administrators at the university’s Engineering and Science Services Department, such as department head, Dr. Mahmoud Farag.
