Loesche will supply Saudi Arabia with its first VRMs for cement grinding

World Cement,

Loesche will supply the first vertical roller mills for cement grinding in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Southern Province Cement Company (SPCC). Two Loesche type LM 56.3+3 VRMs, each with a 200 tph minimum capacity, will be installed at SPCC’s Bisha site. A new brownfield cement line is under construction at Bisha, with a clinker production capacity of 5000 tpd. China’s CNBM has been contracted for delivery and execution of the new line.

Loesche will also supply the Bisha plant with an LM 56.4 mill for cement raw material grinding. SPCC already operates two Loesche mills for grinding cement raw material at its Tahamah plant, and a third mill is currently being erected at the site. The unique modular design of the VRMs means that the major spare parts of the two LM 56.3+3 mills for cement grinding are the same as those for the cement raw material mills at the Bisha and Tahamah sites, keeping SPCC’s need for spare parts to a minimum.

The new Loesche mills will enable SPCC to adapt to changing market demands, allowing it to produce OPC cements as well as various additive cements with differing product finenesses at the Bisha plant.
