PPC installs palletiser at its cement plant in Zimbabwe

World Cement,

PPC Zimbabwe has announced the installation of a new state-of-the-art palletiser and plastic cover wrapping machine, the first of its kind in the country’s cement industry. The palletised packing system will help to increase the plant’s output and improve delivery and turn-around times for PPC’s customers. The new installation will reduce dust and breakages while enhancing safety and efficiency. Pallets that are not used will be covered in shrink-wrap and stored outside, ensuring that the cement is protected from moisture damage.

PPC Zimbabwe’s Managing Director, Njombo Lekula, told local press that Italy’s VFB Bocedi supplied the machine, which has a capacity of 200 bags/hour.

“As Zimbabwe’s leading cement company we endeavour to remain at the forefront of providing supreme customer convenience and world class standards in service delivery allied with unbeatable consistent quality cement. The palletiser project is the first of many innovations we intend to introduce moving forward as we seek to consolidate our position as the undisputed cement choice in Zimbabwe. PPC’s extensive experience over the years enables us to boldly state TRUST A CENTURION, as we have stood the test of time since 1913,” said Njombo Lekula.
