Construction of cement terminal in Oman to begin by year-end

World Cement,

It has been reported that the construction of a cement terminal at Oman’s Duqm Port will begin at the end of the year. The cement distribution terminal is being established by Raysut Cement in partnership with other investors. It will receive cement in bulk and bagged form via cement carriers, which will then be discharged by shore-based ship unloaders or by pumping the product through shore pipelines. Construction of the facility is estimated to take around a year to complete.

The Port of Duqm Company is reportedly in discussions with various companies for the export of minerals such as limestone. The first mineral export consignment is expected to take place by the end of 2013.
