CNBM announces successful start-up of Iraqi clinker line

World Cement,

On 30 March 2014, the Iraq Al-Douh clinker production line came onstream. The line, which has a production capacity of 3300 tpd, was constructed by CNBM International Engineering Co. Ltd.

It is located around 300 km northwest of Basra, an area affected by harsh weather conditions, such as extreme heat and dust, throughout the year. CNBM staff encountered various difficulties during the construction of the new line, which they overcame to successfully complete the project.

Ignition took place on 24 March and since clinker production began in 30 March all the equipment has functioned efficiently, achieving its designed capacity and performance levels.

Impressed with CNBM’s execution of the project, RICG Investment Group, the owner of the line, has expressed its intention of further cooperation with CNBM in the future.
