Cao Jianglin visits cement plant and building projects in Nigeria

Jianglin met with Mr Dangote, Chairman of the Dangote Group of Nigeria in late November 2018. Both sides affirmed the achievements of past cooperation and exchanged views on the global cement and building materials market. In particular, they talked about cooperation in the field in Africa, as well as discussing strategy and capital cooperation at the group level.

Jianglin also heard a report on the operation of the representative of the China National Building Material Group in Nigeria. He affirmed the work done by various companies in the development of diversification and localisation. He noted that they are engaged in a “great project” and thanks everyone for their hard work.

Jianglin proposed four measures for how the engineering company should shift its strategic focus to overseas operations. These changes include localised operation, market-orientated operation, strengthening and optimising traditional business, and actively exploring limited diversification.

Responding to the future development of the company overseas, Jianglin proposed the following: practicing the group’s strategy, culture, business management principles, and business direction; strengthening and improving the traditional engineering business and actively carrying out the related engineering business; the steady and fast promotion of manufacturing; and improving the mechanism of the overseas sub-branch.
