‘Ashakacem plant is back to normal’ says Lafarge
Following local press reports that a Lafarge plant in Ashaka, Nigeria, had allegedly been the target of a raid by Boko Haram, Lafarge has released the following statement:
Leading cement and building materials provider, Lafarge Africa Plc, have announced that Ashakacem plant is back to normal after intruders entered the plant late yesterday afternoon.
Ashakacem, which is located in Gombe State in the northeast region of Nigeria, was the target of an intrusion by people who were strangers to the plant. However, the situation has now stabilised and there is no report of any injury to employees or damage to the plant.
