World Cement,
ASEC Engineering has been awarded an operations and maintenance contract with Cimento Nacionale Ltda in Mozambique, its first contract in Sub-Saharan Africa.
“This contract with Cimento Nacionale Ltda is the first step in ASEC Engineering’s plans to expand its footprint outside the MENA region into Sub-Saharan Africa,” said Khaled El Sebaie, CEO of ASEC Engineering. “Our ability move into new territories is the result of the well-established reputation that ASEC Holding has earned as a regional cement, engineering and construction group.”
ASEC Engineering is part of the Citadel Capital Group and acts as the engineering and construction services arm of ASEC Holding. It is a leading provider of O&M services in Egypt and the MENA region and will draw on this experience to boost production volumes, reduce costs and improve quality at Cimento Nationale Ltda. The one-year contract, renewable for five years, will see ASEC Engineering introduce and implement new systems across all aspects of the business, including quality assurance, maintenance, warehousing and human resources. The contract also includes training for local staff in Mozambique to be carried out through the ASEC Academy.
