Aamal Cement Industries opens concrete block factory

World Cement,

Aamal Company, said to be one of the fastest growing diversified conglomerates in the GCC region, announced last week that its subsidiary Aamal Cement Industries has officially begun operations at its newly opened concrete block manufacturing plant at Messaid, Qatar. The plant will manufacture a wide range of concrete building and paving products turning out 85 000 blocks and 6900 m2 of interlocking paving per day in its efforts to support the wider industrialisation of the Qatari economy.

Aamal chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, said: “With numerous infrastructure and industrial projects to be undertaken in the next few years, the demand for manufacturers of quality concrete blocks for buildings and pavements is projected to be strong and Aamal Cement will be focused on growing the business to fill this supply shortfall in the Qatar market”. The company is now presented with a significant opportunity to develop a high growth revenue stream in the concrete block industry. In addition to supplying concrete blocks and paving, the new plant can also manufacture solid and hollow masonry blocks of different sizes and paving blocks and kerbs in a wide range of shapes, sizes and colours.

Aamal Company was formed in January 2001 and in December 2007 it became a public shareholding company listed in the Doha Securities Market. With recently established companies such as Frijin Structural Steel Middle East, Senyar Industries Qatar Holding and Aamal Industrial Advanced Pipes Company, the company will continue to play a leading role in the development of the industrial market in Qatar.
