Savannah Cement plans installation of new milling plant in Kenya
Savannah Cement has confirmed plans to invest more than KES18 billion in the installation of a second high efficiency milling plant at its existing manufacturing complex near Kitengela town, located in Kajiado County in Kenya’s former Rift Valley Province. The new plant will feature advanced roller press technology, which allows for eco-friendly cement production.
Savannah Cement is additionally planning the groundbreaking of a new clinker manufacturing plant in 2015. According to Ronald Ndegwa, Managing Director of Savannah Cement, the installation of the second milling plant and the clinker production facility is part of the company's strategy to operate a fully integrated cement manufacturing business. Ndegwa further noted that Savannah Cement would be expanding its product range in order to meet customers' demands.
