KHD announces contracts in Turkey and Syria

KHD Roller Press technology for plant in Turkey

Under a contract with Bilim Makina Insaat San., Turkey, as general contractor, Humboldt Wedag GmbH received the order for engineering and equipment supply for a clinker grinding unit. The new semi-finish grinding system, equipped with KHD roller press technology, will be erected at SANKO Bartin Cement’s new 3000 tpd cement production plant in Bartin in the Black Sea region of Turkey.

A Roller Press / V-separator circuit will be installed in semi-finish mode in front of two ball mill systems with dynamic separators. KHD’s scope of supply includes as key components:

• Roller Press RPS 10-170/110
• V-separator VS 80/20
• Cyclones 4 x 2800 dia. and System Fan HKF 190/250

The semi-finish grinding system is designed for a capacity of 240 tph with a fineness of 1200 cm2/g acc. to Blaine.

Delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2011.

New 4000 tpd clinker production line in Syria

GÜRIS Insaat ve Mühendislik, Turkey awarded Humboldt Wedag, Germany, a contract to provide a new pyroprocess system with a capacity designed for 4000 tpd clinker. GÜRIS already operates two cement grinding and packing plants in Syria and this contract is part of the new ongoing investment of GÜRIS in a cement factory, which will be installed in Al Raqqah, Syria near the Turkish border. GÜRIS is both investor and contractor for this plant, which will be the first investment of the two greenfield cement plants planned by GÜRIS in Syria.

The new kiln line will incorporate state of the art technology from KHD Humboldt Wedag including preheater/calciner system, rotary kiln and cooler. KHD’s scope of supply and services comprises engineering and equipment supply.

New core equipment with KHD technology are:

• Single string, 5 stage preheater
• ID-fan for preheater
• PYROCLON® R calciner equipped with PYROTOP® compact mixing chamber, tertiary air duct with dust settling chamber and calciner firing system for heavy fuel oil
• PYRORAPID® two-tyre rotary kiln with 4.6 x 54 m
• PYRO-JET® kiln burner for heavy fuel oil
• PYROFLOOR® clinker cooler fitted with PYROCRUSHER®, roll-type clinker crusher.

Delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2011.
