Holcim Mexico, part of leading building materials company LarfargeHolcim, has been name a socially responsible company for the 18th consecutive year.
Holcim Mexico gained Socially Responsible Company recognition (ESR) from the Mexican Centre for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility (AliaRSE) for its social responsibility programmes, which benefitted more than 500 000 people in 2017. Its social engagement model addresses challenges in the areas of education, health, environment, and economic development.The activities are aimed at employees, neighboring communities, customers, suppliers and society in general.
"Social responsibility is one of the foundations of the commitment we have to sustainable development and a milestone of our business strategy,"said Carlos Juárez Larios, Executive Director of Holcim Mexico Foundation. "Our goal is to improve the lives of our employees, their families, and to be a valuable and reliable partner in each of the communities where we have a presence".
Holcim is the only cement company in Mexico that has received the CEMEFI distinction as a socially responsible company (ESR) for 18 consecutive years. This recognition is the highest certificate granted to companies that demonstrate specific actions and programmes which benefit communities and society.
