Cimpor appoints a new board member

Cimpor has announced that Armando Sérgio Antunes da Silva has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors, following the resignation of Nélson Tambelini Júnior.

Additionally, given that Nélson Tambelini Júnior was also member of the Executive Committee, Armando Sérgio Antunes da Silva has also been nominated to the Executive Committee.

Therefore the Executive Committee is made up of:

  • Ricardo Fonseca de Mendonça Lima, as CEO;
  • Paulo Sérgio de Oliveira Diniz, as CFO;
  • Armando Sérgio Antunes da Silva.

Cimentos de Portugal, SGPS, S.A has sold two quarries in the State of São Paulo.

Cimpor builds a new plant in Brazil

Cimpor is to build an integrated clinker and cement plant in South Brazil. The plant, which is scheduled to start production in early 2014, will have a production capacity of 1.2 million tpa of cement.
