CEMEX Ventures has invested in PRYSMEX, a Mexico-based start-up that offers a solution capable of detecting and helping to prevent workplace accidents through the Internet of Things (IoT) and real-time data collection. The investment comes after CEMEX installed PRYSMEX’s technology at all of its Mexican cement plants.
“Through the IoT, PRYSMEX enables a comprehensive analysis of data such as impacts, light and noise levels, locations, temperatures, and the presence of toxic gases, among others,” CEMEX said in a press release.
PRYSMEX devices are placed on workers’ helmets and monitor and communicate in read time users’ conditions, altering them to potential situations and high-risk areas. The PRYSMEX web application provides an analytical report of workers’ and plant conditions, enable better workplace decision-making and accident prevention at all times.
PRYSMEX was established by chemical engineer, Susana Ruiz, and civil engineer, Patricio de Villa. It was a finalist in the CEMEX Ventures Startup Competition in 2017.
