Two new impact crushers have been delivered to Demix Agrégats' Laval quarry in Quebec, Canada, a leading aggregates producer in the greater Montreal area. Demix Agrégats is division of CRH Canada Group.

The two Metso Nordberg NP20 impact crushers were delivered to the quarry in January, Metso said in a recent press release. The NP20 model was developed specifically for Laval by Metso and its distributor for Quebec and Western Labrador, Hewitt Equipment.

“The NP20 is the third machine of the renewed Metso Nordberg Series,” said Vincent Schmitt, Product Manager for Metso’ impact crusher range. :It will replace our largest secondary impact crusher, the NP1520, and , like its predecessors, is optimised for use both in secondary and tertiary applications.”

Discussion between Demix Agrégats, Metso and Hewitt Equipment on the new equipment began back in 2014 and resulted in the order being made in 1Q16.

"Developing a new crusher in just eight months has been an exciting challenge. Thanks to our knowledge and experience from previous generation machines – and the involvement from the whole team – this project has been a great success," Schmitt concluded.

In addition to the two new impact crushers, Demix Agrégats has ordered various Metso equipment for a project that is currently underway at Lacal, including a C150 jaw crusher with an MB432 hydraulic hammer, a CVB202 for primary crushing and screening, two TS5.3 screens, and a sand washing screw, as well as several Metso feeders.
