Holcim Mexico has launched ECOCycle®, a global technology that recycles demolition and construction materials into new solutions.
This sustainable model reduces the use of natural resources and decarbonises the industry. ECOCycle incorporates these materials into a variety of applications, including low-carbon cement, road construction aggregates, and ready-mix concrete, without compromising performance and reducing the environmental footprint.
"At Holcim, we know that circularity is the future of construction. We are delighted to introduce ECOCycle, which allows us to build cities by recycling demolition materials, ensuring nothing is wasted", said Manuel Sirtori, Director of Concrete and Aggregates at Holcim Mexico.
This makes Holcim the first company in Mexico and Latin America to launch ready-mix concrete with recycled aggregates. Plants in Arvide, Naucalpan, Xalostoc, and Iztapalapa have successfully developed this technology, creating a portfolio of concrete products that incorporate recycled materials.
Holcim's commitment to sustainable construction is evident worldwide. In France, the first 100% recycled building is being constructed using Holcim’s Circular ECOCycle technology.
Holcim continues to lead the transition towards more sustainable construction, turning challenges into opportunities through innovation and circularity. With ECOCycle, Holcim reaffirms its position as an industry pioneer committed to a more sustainable future.
