Mississippi Lime is to add high-reactivity hydrated lime (HRH) production capability at its West Virgina facility. HRH is used in the dry sorbent injection industry to control acidic gas emissions at industrial plants.

Since the introduction of HRH in 2013, the enhanced hydrated lime product has “provided the customers the opportunity for higher performance and cost savings for controlling emissions, such as sulfuric acid mist, hydrochloric acid, and sulfur dioxide,” Mississippi Lime said in a press release.

The Weirton, West Virginia, plant joins the Ste Genevieve plant in Missouri, the Verona plant in Kentucky, and the Chester, South Carolina, plant in offering HRH.

Mississippi Lime is a leading US lime producer. In addition, it also offers the AbSensor probe via its subsidiary, Breen Energy Solutions, allowing customers to measure the performance of their dry sorbent injection system.
