President of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) Robert Garbini has announced his retirement. He plans to retire following the conclusion of NRMCA’s annual convention in March 2019.

Garbini has worked for the NRMCA for 27 years and for 44 years in the construction industry overall. He has cited his lifetime commitment to the success of the NRMCA, as well as to the industry. Garbini has stated that he is sure that the highly respected NRMCA professionals and member leadership will continue to achieve its goals for advancing the interests of concrete in the building sector, local paving market, and advocacy arena, as well as continuing to increase the professionalism of the workforce and the quality of the product through research and education.

Chairman of the NRMCA Rodney Grogan has thanked Garbini for his years of service and dedication, noting his faithful advocacy and leadership of the association and the ready mixed concrete industry. Grogan also wished Garbini well for his future retirement.

Grogan has stated that the NRMCA board has put together a search committee comprised of past chairmen of the NRMCA, to be led by Bill Childs of Chaney Enterprises. The committee aims to identify candidates for the leadership of the NRMCA.

The NRMCA is currently in its 88th year of representing the producers of ready mixed concrete and the companies that provide materials, equipment, and support to the industry. It conducts education, training, promotion, research, engineering, safety, environmental, technological, lobbying, and regulatory programmes.
