Michael McSweeney, the President and CEO of the Cement Association of Canada is one of over 60 CEOs and civil society leaders that are urging the Prime Minister and Premiers to take bold action on clean growth and climate change.
He emphasised that, “Canada’s transition to a prosperous, low-carbon, climate resilient economy hinges on the right mix of incentives, investments and bold complementary policies. Carbon pricing sensitive to the competitiveness of industry is the backbone of this transition, but must also be met with investments in low-carbon technology innovation and a deeper commitment to lifecycle approaches to infrastructure and the built environment.”
These business and civil society leaders have sent a letter to First Ministers, highlighting these issues.
