New cement industry appointments

ANH Refractories

North America’s largest refractory manufacturer, ANH Refractories, has announced the appointment of Stephen M. Delo as the company’s new Chairman and CEO.

Delo has had a 34-year career at Honeywell International and most recently served as Director, Integrated Supply Chain, at the company’s Performance, Materials and Technologies business. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University.

FLSmidth

Eric Thomas Poupier has been appointed to a newly created position in Group Executive Management as Group Executive Vice President, Business Development, at FLSmidth. The position was created as part of the company’s efforts to strengthen the Group's competitiveness by focusing more on effectiveness, strategy development and integration.

Poupier has a range of experience within business and strategy development, as well as within purchasing and change management. He holds a Master of Mechanical Engineering from INPG in Grenoble, alongside a Specialised Master in Supply Chain Management from the HEC School of Business in Paris and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago. He has since worked in purchasing, consultancy, sales, growth strategy and management roles in companies such as Bain & Company and Bosch. Poupier will begin his new position on 15 January 2014.

Cement Manufacturers Association, India

The Director of UltraTech Cements, O. P. Puranmalka, has been elected as the new President of India’s Cement Manufacturers' Association (CMA) for 2013 – 14, replacing M. Muthiah of Chettinad Cement. The Director of J K Lakshmi Cement, Shailendra Chouksey, has been elected as the Vice President of the organisation.

The appointments were cleared at CMA’s 52nd Annual General Meeting.
