Polysius to install 3000 tpd clinker line in Brazil

Polysius has been awarded a contract by CIA de Cimento Itambe, Brazil, to construct a 3000 tpd clinker line at the Balsa Nova plant, near Curitiba, southern Brazil.

The scope of supply includes a raw material grinding system with a QUADROPOL roller mill and a tangential blending silo. The kiln system consists of a DOPOLÒ 90 preheater with PREPOLÒ-CC-MSC precalciner, the POLROÒ rotary kiln with POLFLAMEÒ-VN clinkering zone burner and a POLYTRACKÒ clinker cooler.

The fuel processing section comprises a petcoke grinding system with air-swept ball mill and SEPOL® separator. Production startup of the plant is due to take place at the end of 2011. Polysius previously installed a line at the plant in the 1970s.
